"Curtains," the musical comedy whodunit presented by Pequot Lakes Community Theatre, continues its run this weekend in the Pequot Lakes High School auditorium.
Boasting songs by musical comedy masters John Kander (composer) and Fred Ebb (lyricist), creators of "Chicago" and "Cabaret" among many other shows, and book by Rupert Holmes, who wrote that earlier musical puzzler, "The Mystery of Edwin Drood," "Curtains" provides an entertainment-filled night or afternoon out for theatre fans.
The show is set in 1959, before the era of instant communication via cell phones. A new musical, "Robbin' Hood," is playing its opening performance in Boston when somebody is murdered onstage.
A Boston police lieutenant, sent to solve the murder, quarantines the entire company to the theatre, and sets about solving the crime, as well as fixing what's wrong with the show.
